Description
🎣 Big-screen keypad combos with the sonar built in — and on the US/Canada versions, you can grab the transducer in the same box.
The GPSMAP 1042xsv and 1242xsv pair Garmin's proven keypad-and-knob interface with a full built-in sounder: 1kW traditional CHIRP plus CHIRP ClearVü and SideVü scanning sonar, with Panoptix and LiveScope support when you add the live-sonar transducer. The 1042xsv runs a 10.1" 1024×600 screen; the 1242xsv a 12.1" 1280×800. Both are preloaded with charts (BlueChart g3 coastal and LakeVü inland on US/Canada units), take chart upgrades through two SD slots, and share sonar, radar and cameras across the Garmin Marine Network. The 60-suffix US/Canada variants ship with the GT52HW-TM transducer already in the box — a high-wide CHIRP transducer that's the sweet spot for freshwater and shallow saltwater.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which variants come with a transducer? The US/Canada "-60" variants (010-01740-60 and 010-01741-60) include the GT52HW-TM transducer. The Worldwide and standard US/Canada variants ship without one.
What is the GT52HW-TM good for? It's a high-wide CHIRP transducer delivering traditional CHIRP plus CHIRP ClearVü and SideVü — ideal for freshwater and shallow saltwater. It does not do LiveScope; that needs a separate Panoptix LiveScope transducer.
1042xsv vs 1242xsv — what's different? Screen only. The 1042xsv is 10.1" (1024×600), the 1242xsv is 12.1" (1280×800). Sonar, GPS, networking and charts are identical.
Keypad or touchscreen? These are keypad units with a multifunction knob. For touchscreen in this class, look at the X3 xsv series.
