Which Eagle do I need?
- Eagle 4X (4 in, Bullet Skimmer): the simplest, most affordable, 2D sonar.
- Eagle 5 / 7 SplitShot HD: adds DownScan for a clearer view below the boat, with C-MAP mapping.
- Eagle 9 TripleShot HD: adds SideScan to see out to each side.
- Eagle 9 Eagle Eye: adds live sonar to watch fish in real time (note: Eagle Eye has live sonar but no SideScan).
Transducer and mapping options
Eagle comes with a Bullet Skimmer, SplitShot HD, TripleShot HD, or Eagle Eye transducer, and with C-MAP US Inland or C-MAP DISCOVER OnBoard mapping (the 4X is basemap only).

What is the difference between TripleShot HD and Eagle Eye? TripleShot HD gives you SideScan. Eagle Eye gives you live sonar but no SideScan. Pick based on whether you want side imaging or real-time live sonar.
Does the Eagle have mapping? Yes, most models come with C-MAP. The 4X is basemap only.
Is the Eagle good for a beginner? Yes, it is one of the easiest, most affordable ways into real Lowrance sonar.
