Description

🌊 Saltwater-tough transom-mount control for inshore bays, sounds, and brackish water.

The Minn Kota Riptide Transom is the saltwater answer to the transom-mount class, built for inshore salt, bay, and brackish water where freshwater motors corrode within months. Riptide construction means stainless hardware, sealed electronics, and saltwater-resistant powerheads throughout. It mounts on the transom and runs hand-tiller control, a simple, rugged setup for smaller inshore boats and skiffs.

It is the right pick for inshore anglers who want dependable transom-mount control that will survive the salt.

  • Saltwater Riptide build stainless hardware and sealed electronics
  • Transom-mount, hand-tiller control simple and rugged
  • Shaft lengths 36 to 52 inch options
  • Thrust range 12V at 45 or 55 lb up to 36V at 112 lb

A saltwater transom motor for inshore bay, sound, and brackish-water anglers.

Common Questions

Do I need the saltwater Riptide version? Yes for inshore salt, bays, sounds, and brackish water. Freshwater motors corrode fast in salt. Riptide models use stainless hardware and sealed electronics built to survive it, and carry a saltwater warranty.

Should I run 12V, 24V, or 36V? More voltage means more thrust to move a bigger, heavier boat and to hold against wind and current. A rough guide is about 2 pounds of thrust per 100 pounds of fully loaded boat weight. 12V suits small boats, 24V is the mid-range sweet spot, and 36V is for larger or rough-water rigs.

Transom-mount or bow-mount? Transom-mount is simpler and ideal for smaller boats and skiffs steered by hand tiller. Bow-mount gives better tracking and control from the front of the boat. For many inshore skiffs, a transom Riptide is all you need.

Not sure which shaft length, voltage, or configuration fits your boat?
