Bow mount for boats with a deck (bass boats, deck boats, pontoons, deep-V hulls) — gives precision boat control while fishing. Transom mount for jon boats, skiffs, sailboats, kayaks, and small bay boats — operated from the back.
Will the Riptide Transom work as my main propulsion?
On small craft (under 17') yes — at 80 or 112 lb thrust, it can move smaller boats at meaningful speed. For sailboats, it's an excellent auxiliary engine.
