Minn Kota Riptide PowerDrive
The Riptide PowerDrive is the saltwater version of Minn Kota's entry-level GPS bow mount. Every model has GPS, Bluetooth, One-Boat Network, and Spot-Lock with Riptide saltwater corrosion protection. Choose between the compact Bluetooth Micro Remote or the full-size Advanced GPS Navigation Wireless Remote with LCD screen.
All 4 SKUs are 54" shaft with NO foot pedal and NO built-in sonar. Unlike freshwater PowerDrive, there are no foot-pedal-only configurations — every Riptide PowerDrive is a GPS remote model.
Important: Riptide PowerDrive GPS models CANNOT add a foot pedal — no pedal port on GPS models. This is a hardware-level limitation confirmed by Minn Kota. If you need pedal + remote on a saltwater motor → Riptide Terrova.

Riptide PowerDrive is the most affordable GPS saltwater bow mount. It puts Spot-Lock, Bluetooth, and OBN on your saltwater boat without the price tag of Riptide Terrova. The trade-off: no foot pedal capability (hardware limitation on GPS models), no sonar, and only 54" shaft.
Micro Remote vs. Wireless Remote: The Micro Remote (SKUs 1363575, 1363585) is a compact Bluetooth remote with buttons — no screen. The Wireless Remote (SKUs 1363576, 1363586) is the full-size Advanced GPS Navigation Wireless Remote with an LCD screen showing waypoints, routes, and battery status. Same GPS features on both — the difference is the display.
Riptide PowerDrive vs. Riptide Terrova: Riptide Terrova has more thrust options (55/80/112 lb), more shaft lengths (54"/60"/72"/87"), the full-size wireless remote on every model, and supports adding a foot pedal. Riptide PowerDrive is 54" shaft only, 55 or 70 lb thrust only, and cannot add a foot pedal. If you need more power, a longer shaft, or pedal control → Riptide Terrova.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I add a foot pedal to Riptide PowerDrive?
No. All Riptide PowerDrive models are GPS configurations with no foot pedal port. This is a hardware-level limitation confirmed by Minn Kota — there is no adapter or workaround. If you need foot pedal + wireless remote on a saltwater motor, you need Riptide Terrova.
Does Riptide PowerDrive have built-in sonar?
No. No Riptide PowerDrive model includes built-in sonar. If you need sonar integrated into the motor shaft, you need a freshwater PowerDrive DSC model or Terrova DSC/MDI.
What is the difference between the Micro Remote and the Wireless Remote?
The Micro Remote is a compact Bluetooth remote with buttons for speed, steering, Spot-Lock, and AutoPilot — no screen. The Wireless Remote is the full-size Advanced GPS Navigation Wireless Remote with an LCD screen showing waypoints, routes, battery status, and complete GPS control. Same GPS features on both. You can add the other remote later — both pair over Bluetooth and can run simultaneously.
What size Riptide PowerDrive do I need?
55 lb / 12V handles saltwater boats up to roughly 3,000 lb. 70 lb / 24V handles up to roughly 3,500 lb. All models are 54" shaft. If you need more thrust (80/112 lb) or a longer shaft (60"/72"/87"), step up to Riptide Terrova.
