Do I need the saltwater Riptide version? Yes for inshore salt, bays, sounds, and brackish water. Freshwater motors corrode fast in salt. Riptide models use stainless hardware and sealed electronics built to survive it, and carry a saltwater warranty.
What does Spot-Lock do? Spot-Lock is a GPS anchor. It uses the motor to hold your boat on a precise spot without dropping a physical anchor, so you stay on fish, structure, or a brush pile hands-free.
Wireless Remote or Micro Remote? Both control the same i-Pilot features. The Wireless is the standard full-feature remote; the Micro is a smaller, minimal-bulk alternative for anglers who want less in their pocket. It comes down to preference.
