Description
š£ Humminbird's newest series, and the one that finally puts the good map card in the box. Pick your screen size, decide whether you need the transducer, and rig it.
XPLORE is built around a Full-HD 1280 x 720 display with the Cross Touch interface, so you can run it by touchscreen or by keypad, whichever your hands prefer when the water gets rough. Every unit ships with MEGA Side Imaging+ and MEGA Down Imaging+ on the XM 14 HW CMSI T transom transducer, giving you 20 percent more detail and 60 percent more range than standard MEGA Imaging. Dual Spectrum CHIRP handles the 2D work with Wide Mode for coverage and Narrow Mode for detail, down to 1,200 feet on the standard transducer.
What sets XPLORE apart is what comes with it. Internal GPS with Humminbird Basemap covers more than 10,000 lakes, and a LakeMaster and CoastMaster VX map card is included, covering over 13,000 lakes, waterways, and coastal waters across the U.S. and Canada with 1 foot contours and built-in SmartStrike. The new waypoint system syncs 10,000 waypoints to your phone with custom colors and icons through the One-Boat Network app.

Screen sizes are 9 in, 10.1 in and 12.1 in. Units with the transducer ship with the XM 14 HW CMSI T; the CHO options are control head only, for anglers running a thru-hull, a Minn Kota with Built-in MEGA Imaging, or an existing Humminbird network. MEGA Live 2 bundles pair the head unit with Humminbird's forward-facing sonar.
Built for bass, crappie, and walleye anglers who want current-generation MEGA imaging and premium maps without stepping all the way up to APEX.
FAQ
Q: What does CHO mean?
A: Control Head Only. The CHO models ship without a transducer. Pick CHO if you already run a compatible transducer, a thru-hull, a Minn Kota with Built-in MEGA Imaging, or an existing Humminbird Ethernet network. Otherwise choose a model with the transducer included, or you will open the box with nothing to scan with.
Q: Which transducer is included?
A: The XM 14 HW CMSI T transom-mount transducer, with built-in temperature. It runs MEGA Side Imaging+ and Down Imaging+ at 455 kHz and 1.1 MHz plus Dual Spectrum CHIRP at 150 to 220 kHz.
Q: How is XPLORE different from APEX?
A: Same sonar family, different platform. XPLORE runs a 1280 x 720 display in 9, 10.1 and 12.1 inch sizes. APEX runs 1920 x 1080 in 13.3, 16 and 19 inch, and adds HDMI in/out and dual Ethernet. XPLORE carries a 3 year warranty with registration; APEX carries 2 years.
Q: Do I need to buy maps separately?
A: No. A LakeMaster and CoastMaster VX map card is included, covering over 13,000 lakes, waterways and coastal waters in the U.S. and Canada. That card normally sells on its own, so it is a real part of the value here.
Q: Does it work with MEGA Live 2?
A: Yes. Every XPLORE is MEGA Live 2 compatible, in Forward or Down mode with real-time zoom. The MEGA Live 2 bundle options include that sonar; the head unit only options do not.
