Carrying case = transport (you remove the unit from it before use). Silicone skin = stays on the unit during use. Many users have both.
Universal really mean universal?
Fits up to 7" Garmin navigators. For larger units (Tread Overland 8", Tread XL 10") it won't fit, get a larger case.
