The GPSMAP X3 "xsv" combos are the ones you buy when you want sonar out of the box instead of a display-only head unit. Every variant here ships with built-in Ultra High-Definition SideVü and ClearVü scanning sonar plus 1kW traditional CHIRP, and every one is ready for Panoptix and LiveScope live sonar the day you add the transducer. The 9" and 12" units run higher-resolution IPS panels — the 9" carries 50% more pixels than the previous 9" GPSMAP, and the redesigned edge-to-edge glass drops into tighter dash cutouts than the units they replace. Two SD slots and full Garmin Marine Network sharing mean one unit at the helm can push sonar, radar, and charts to a second screen at the console or tower.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this come with a transducer? No. These xsv combos have the sonar engine built in but ship without a transducer so you can match it to your boat. For most freshwater and shallow saltwater setups the GT52HW-TM is the popular pick; call us and we'll confirm.
What's the difference between the xsv and the non-sonar version? The xsv models include built-in SideVü, ClearVü and 1kW CHIRP sonar. The non-sonar GPSMAP 7/9/12 is a chartplotter only, meant for boats that already run a networked sonar black box.
Will it run LiveScope? Yes. The whole X3 series supports Panoptix and Panoptix LiveScope live sonar. You add a LiveScope system (transducer plus, on some setups, a GLS module) separately.
