Garmin GPSMAP 7/9/12 Series Chartplotter (Non-Sonar)
SKU:
Description
🧭 The clean helm display for boats that already have their sonar handled somewhere else on the network.
These are the non-sonar GPSMAP X3 units. Same slimline edge-to-edge glass, same higher-resolution IPS panels, same Garmin Marine Network as the xsv combos — but no internal sounder, because you don't need one. If your boat runs a networked sonar black box, a second combo unit doing the sonar work, or you simply want a dedicated chartplotter at a second station, this is the head unit you want. It pulls sonar, radar, and IP camera video off the network and puts it on a bright, sunlight-readable screen without paying for a sounder you'll never plug a transducer into.
- ✅ Clean chartplotter display — networks to sonar you already own
- ✅ Bright and readable — higher-res IPS on 9" and 12", edge-to-edge glass
- ✅ Second-station ready — Garmin Marine Network sonar, radar and camera sharing
- ✅ Full helm integration — NMEA 2000, NMEA 0183, autopilot support
- ✅ 10 Hz GPS with dual SD slots for chart upgrades
Choose screen size (7", 9" or 12") and map region (Worldwide Basemap or Garmin Navionics+ US/Canada) above. If you're not sure whether you want this or the xsv sonar version, call us — it comes down to whether this unit needs to run its own transducer.
Built for boaters adding a second helm station or running a networked black-box sonar.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I add sonar to this later? Not internally — the non-sonar units have no sounder. But they display sonar shared over the Garmin Marine Network from another unit or a sonar black box, so you can add sonar to the network rather than to this specific display.
Why buy non-sonar instead of the xsv? To save money on a second station, or when the boat already has its sonar covered. If this is your only display and you want to run a transducer off it, buy the xsv version instead.
Does it still do radar and cameras? Yes. Non-sonar refers only to the internal sounder. Radar, IP cameras, autopilot and NMEA data all work over the network.
