Frequently Asked Questions
How does air integration work?
The T2 mounts on your scuba first stage HP port. It wirelessly transmits tank pressure to your paired dive computer using Garmin's SubWave sonar system, no air hose to your computer.
Which Descent computers are compatible?
Descent Mk2i, Descent Mk3i, and Descent X50i. NOT compatible with Descent G2 or Descent X30 (those models lack the SubWave sonar hardware).
Can I monitor multiple tanks?
Yes, up to 8 transceivers per computer. Common uses: technical divers with multiple bottles, dive instructors monitoring student tanks, divemasters monitoring guest tanks.
Do I need two HP ports on my first stage?
Most divers have one HP port used by their existing SPG (submersible pressure gauge). To run BOTH a T2 AND keep a backup SPG, you need a first stage with two HP ports OR an HP port splitter. Many divers run just the T2 without a backup SPG (controversial, adds dependence on battery-powered equipment for life-safety information).
SubWave messaging, what is it?
Diver-to-diver preset messages up to 30m via underwater sonar. Useful for safety coordination, group communication, technical diving handoffs.
Battery life?
Up to 100 hours on a replaceable CR123A lithium battery.
What's the warranty?
1-year limited manufacturer warranty from Garmin.
