Hood vs Fender Mount?
Hood Mount: higher antenna position (better range), but more visible and may shake more at highway speeds. Fender Mount: lower, more stable, less visible. Both extend range significantly vs handheld; hood is slightly better for absolute range.
Permanent install:
Drills a hole through the hood. NOT removable without leaving a hole. For temporary use, see the Triple Mag Ground Plane (magnetic mount).
